    Enjoy Logic 10.1 Released

Loads of improvements, new features and fixes once again.

I think I'm going to enjoy being able to re-arrange my AU's (haven't seen it yet, but I'm sure it's useable, rather than being Jobs-like).

Must be the smell of NAMM in the air.

No trouble here on an iMac i5, 10.9.5. I like that it talks directly to my Apogee Duet. Haven't had an opportunity to try VCA faders yet.

On a side note, have you seen any info on how NI was losing parameter settings with Logic in Yosemite?

I've experienced this on occasion. I've found that I don't seem to get it when I save NI stuff as AU presets, as well as part of a track stack.

One thing that I noticed that they still have not fixed, are aux routings outside of a patch. All of the bus sends are saved, but not the aux channels. Only time aux channels are saved is when they are part of a summing stack.

    Anyone noticed this...

The Vintage B3 is not responding to controller data at the beginning of a region.

i.e. I'll set the mod wheel for drawbar settings, press the sustain pedal to turn on the Leslie effect, but none of it takes. On repeated playback until you hit them again during the middle of the region.

    Another...

editing Automation points while playing back makes the program freak out. It loses sync/stops playing midi instruments - like Superior Drummer, the cursor goes back to the beginning of the song, the audio hiccups.

Bizarre...and irritating! Like I'm up here posting and looking online for solutions, when I should be finishing the f-ing song!

Can't say that I've experienced this issue. Mind you, I'm still having the same old issues with the B3.

Did you try turning on chase events?

The automation one sounds even freakier. I have yet to see that one as well.

I have turned on chase. Makes no difference.

it is bizarre. Move an automation point and the midi goes to hell. I've been way too busy to trouble shoot. Stopping and starting fixes it. I do that for now.

Another thing on the "where are they now?" List:
My SSD drive had trouble capturing audio (it went from the greatest thing ever to worse than a USBdrive in 2002 in one formatting ) but since we were mostly tracking short bits I figured I could restrict the recording time to eleviate the workload. Like I used to. And that's gone now, probably has been for a while. Because everything is so fast and great now.

All of my woes seemed to have been fixed in the 10.1.1 update. I see none of the problems I had before.

Now there's a new driver for Apogee soundcard/converters taking the Maestro inside Logic.

    Requires 10.1

I'm seeing one thing in 10.1.1 that's sticking in my craw. Logic seems to hang when quitting if I have some a bunch of UAD plug-ins active. Not sure if it's a specific plug-in, but I have had this happen practically every time.

Yeah, I haven't seen that one.

but I was wrong about ALL things being fixed, as you know from the organ thread.

Logic still has some other weirdnesses to it. Graphically and such.

Also, if I've had a project open for a while if I try to instantiate Slate's Red compressor it'll make Logic hang. I haven't tried the others to see if it happens with I them.

Yep, feeling your pain, only with me it's Massive and Predator, followed by not a hang but a hard crash.

I've also completely lost the GUIs on all my Voxengo plugs ever since the upgrade to Mavericks. They'll instantiate, and I think they'll even process if I drive them hard enough, but I'm unable to actually change any settings—they're all of them greyed out. Which sucks because Soniformer was actually beginning to be quite useful on vocals.

I kinda hate the idea, bu I'm at a good place to try Yosemite. I've heard that overall it supposed to be a better OS.

Maybe these glitches are fixed? Or are you on Yosemite.

Still on Mavericks. I don't want to risk putting a newer OS X into my Mini after what happened when I installed that. There's not much else I can do to speed this one up now that I've dimed the memory—an SSD boot disk maybe, but that's about it. I'm afraid of getting fucked by a potential Yosemite install and not being able to do anything about it short of getting an entirely new box, which is definitely not in the short-term budget.

I'm not familiar with the mini innards, so I don't know about accessing the drive,

But before I install an upgrade I ghost the known good drive with Carbon Copy Cloner, then upgrade. If needed I'm back in at least the time it takes to swap the drive with the copy, or reformat/reinstall from the ghost.

having said that...I'd rather dance with the devil I know, lol.
