Default promoting the studio, with pics

So, i'm pretty proud of this idea, despite the fact that i don't have any evidence yet that it's not actually a waste of money....

I had a bunch of guitar pics made with the studio logo on one side and some contact info on the other, and i've oragamied a bunch of little boxes for them. idea being, i drop a handful of these picks in one of the boxes, and leave the boxes anywhere that makes sense.
people can take (hopefully one each, but there's no way for me to control this) one free, and they will have a little business card that they will actually use.

And people do take them, judging by the few i've put out so far.

I figure they will have a really good life for a piece of marketing/propaganda, as people will actually use them and i'll get multiple impressions.

I'm really excited about the idea, but maybe i just set a couple hundred dollars on fire.
(I had 1200 made, of various thicknesses and materials)
    we'll see.

    Great idea man!

With great monitors its easy to hear and fix problems but hard to enhance things that already sound good.

With hyped monitors, everything sounds good so you don't hear the problems.

With bad monitors, it seems easy to make absolutely anything sound better because you are really fixing the sound of the monitors rather than the sound of the recording.

First I thought it was condoms and saw the pay-off: "use a condom - there is a guitar player born every hour".

A friend in L.A. did that for his studio. But they were all thin. I use heavy picks. Good idea to make various thicknesses

    Nice idea...especially the different gauges.

A friend's studio had some Pikcards made...which is a nifty idea, but they only come in one gauge.

    Oh DARN!

When I saw the title in the list there was a spot on my screen and I thought it said "Promoting the studio with PIES"!

If you're making guitar pics, please consider doing some in the large triangle shape? Both my lead guitarist and myself use them (MUCH easier to hang onto than the standard ones) and nobody ever thinks of doing promos in that shape, so I hardly ever use them.

Edit: Where did you have them baked, er, made? I might want some for my band.

They're the cheapest i could find.

There's a couple tricky rules about the one color printing.
Look at the logo on the pics at the top of the page you'll see the ones on cellulose there's a gradient, but on the detrin ones it's either full black, or just nothing. little stuff like that you have to watch for, that they don't explain properly.

Thanks! I use standard Clayton picks already - I like their acetal triangles.
