Sandy Pearlman dead at 72
Never met him.
Knew more than a few people who worked with him.
Some for decades.
Never met anybody who didn't think he was both oblique savant and a complete nutbar.
Which is about as good as it gets in my estimation.
First 3 BOC records are some of the best stuff american hard rock of that era could muster. Even as a boy I knew there was a Lord Chancellor at work there. The berserk literary and historical references. The bizarre and cryptic lyric. These things were cornerstones of the bands presentation. MORE important than anything that happened in the MUSIC per say. And I really liked most of the music.
Thought so in 1975.
Nothings changed my mind so far.
Kill me. No really. Just fucking kill me.
