Default International Music Production Internship in Hong Kong!!!

    Hello World-Wide Music Producers

We are a trio of music producers in Hong Kong working on an experimental pop album. We are in the development phase of the songs and looking for a forward-thinking producer with experience in traditional and experimental rhythm (electronic, R&B, jazz, funk, down-tempo, world). This person will be addressing the various rhythmic components of the songs. They must have a background in electronic drum sequencing and arranging. Knowledge with hardware sequencers and samplers is a plus. Experience playing/composing acoustic drums and percussion is also a plus. This is an opportunity to work hands on in a state-of-the-art music studio with connections to a multitude of global musicians, artists, and institutions. Our facility includes:

Pyramix 64-bit Digital Audio Workstation, Horus 8 I/O Audio Interface, V-Cube HD Turnkey Video Player, Ravenna Network, Smart AV Tango Workstation Controllers, Sonodyne SM300 and SM200 Monitors, Charter Oak PEQ-1 Hardware EQ, Charter Oak SCL-1 Hardware Compressor, Charter Oak Condenser Microphones, an isolated ‘Floating Floor’ Recording Room, and much more.

The studio is housed in an animation studio within C1 Enterprise and works in tandem with The Empty Gallery, a groundbreaking art gallery and perhaps the most experimental music venue in Asia.

This position is negotiable from one to three months depending on compatibility with the team and starts immediately after the candidate is chosen. Lodging in a high-rise apartment with a beautiful ocean view overlooking Aberdeen Harbour is included. Airfare is also included. If you are interested in work experience within the international creative vortex of Hong Kong, contact us to set up an interview.

This post makes no sense to me.

You're a "trio of 'Music Producers' " looking for a producer to intern???

    WTF?

A producer is ONE PERSON who oversees the project - artistic direction, business, hiring studio cats, choosing the studio, etc.

You know, a guy like Tony Visconti, Sandy Pearlman, Roy Thomas Baker, Quincy Jones, Tom Wilson, etc.

    "Intern producer" is an oxymoron.

Why would a "trio of producers" need a producer?

Why would anybody with the qualifications to function on a professional production level even consider interning? (Answer - they wouldn't. They'd laugh in your face.)

My guess is that you're three "musicians" who cobble together stuff from programmed beats, loops, and samples who are looking for a patsy to provide some computerized drum parts that you're either unable or unwilling to do yourselves, while you take all the credit and money (if there even is any).

I looked up "C1 Enterprises, Hong Kong" and what I found consisted largely of span on various sites advertising your "contest"? (BIG red flag there) and one rudimentary business registration listing.

"CONTEST"? If you were real producers (or even real hip-hop "pahdoosahs" you'd have the contacts to get what you need without spamming the internet with cheesy, bogus "contests".

You should read Mixerman's new book, bearing in mind that it's a satire!

Hello John, thanks for your feedback. I think you are referring to the old-school role of a producer. We are in a different era of music. Electronic music producers take a much different role in a studio than an old-fashioned producer like Quincy Jones. Think about Max Martin or Benny Blanco.

We have no website because we are not a public music studio... we are private company and not looking for commercial business.

There is no need to be so negative. We are genuine people trying to find an intern. You are turning away people who are looking for a unique and fruitful opportunity. It's not fair to music.
