    Default Modem down

My modem at nobby road is shot (I'm at the local library) and I don't use a smart phone (yet).

So if it seems I'm ignoring the place for the next couple of days, that's not the case.

At first this was frustrating but after a full day of no internet access I feel like a new man

Just as I was headed out to the library I noticed that my new modem/ router arrived.

I'm not hooking it up until tomorrow because I'm already psyched for another night without internet access. Got other plans for the evening

And I was going to go to the library anyway.

It's good to get away from the internet occasionally.

I remember it also. And I'm a bit concerned about people who have been born to it and have never taken a break.

Having been addicted since a 1200 baud modem and a few BBS accounts I think I qualify as fully and completely addicted.

The ISP (or OSP, if you prefer) wanted to charge me for a new modem.

I refused, saying I'll just switch services and get a free modem from their competitor.

After a brief pause when the tech supposedly checked out if she could accommodate me (probably really filing her nails or checking her email) she announced that I'd get one for free.

    Amazing

Exactly. The rolling eyes emoticon added to "amazing" makes it sarcastic.
