Default T-Shirts Thread Redux: Best Swag shirt sayings

Awhile ago, Pounce started a thread discussing the mass of swag shirts he had.

    T-Shirts Thread

Over the weekend, while doing some spring cleaning, I found a trove of old shirts.

Most of them the standard "working crew" type stuff, but one of them made me stop and laugh, since I hadn't seen it in so long.

It was a shirt for Les Miserables.

The shirt is mostly your standard fare, however the logo on the back said it all:

It Ain't Over 'till the Dead Lady Sings

It promptly reminded me of one I saw a roadie were years ago:

    ALL ACCESS.
    ALL THE TIME.
    DON'T EVEN ASK.

I'm sure this is probably on roadie.net now, but at the time, it was new, fresh and innovative.

    Your Turn:

What are some of the best sayings, logos etc that you've seen on roadie/crew shirts?

I always wanted to get one printed up that said,

"Most of these knobs don't do anything, but they're cheaper if we buy 'em in bulk".

Haven't gotten around to it yet.

Hootie and the Blowfish: The shirt says "Hootie Crue" (yeah, I'm missing the umlaut, whatever), in the Motley Crue lettering.

I still want the HK Audio shirt that has the "answers to common soundie questions" on the back.

Sadly I didn't have enough cash last PLASA, and finding one on the net that's in the UK seems to be impossible.
    I'm probably talking shit.

"Mixing most 'heavy' records is like trying to find order and lucidity in a recording of a Cathedral Pipe Organ, all stops out, randomly veering between Handel's Messiah, Ginestera's 2nd and a coupla Bach Fugues, in a Titanium kitchenware foundry, while a gaggle of enraged PCP snorting gorillas with bullhorns conduct a demolition derby with cement mixers against the soothing cacophony of a nearby landslide/tsunami/heavy artillery exchange."- Slipperman

In the same vein as the HK shirt, I haven't even seen this shirt, but this story was related to me a few years back by the Australian agent for Turbosound...back in the days when Turbo still made good stuff...

It's a big international trade show in London (PLASA?) where all of the sound, lights, and staging manufacturers are showing off their latest and greatest... Turbo have a big display, as they have only very recently launched their new big rig system (Floodlight) and are keen to ramp up the orders.

Turbo reps and agents from around the world have flown in, and the booth is humming. The marketing department have put together a bunch of swag to be given away to customers and reps, and they've spent some of the money on t-shirts for the booth staff, and for reps and certain customers. Nice shirts...embossed artwork rather than a transfer.

About day 3 of the show, the CEO rings the booth and enquires how the show's going, and announces that he'll be over later to lend a hand...

The CEO makes his appearance, but he's wearing a shirt and tie, and is feeling a little out of place...so he asks the marketing guy for one of those nice embossed t-shirts to change into. The marketing guy is a little worried at this point, because they only had 100 of these shirts made, and he knows that most of them have been given away. He and the CEO go and have a rummage behind the facade...and luckily there's still a few left...and there's one in the CEO's size. The marketing guys leaves the CEO to get changed.

The CEO takes the shirt out of the plastic bag and holds it up to have a look at it. It is a nice t-shirt, and he wonders how much the marketing guys spent on them... It's a deep blue V-neck style, with a small embossed Turbosound logo on the front. He looks at the logo, and notices some words below the logo itself. He suspect that the words will be the name of the new system, but he reaches into his jacket pocket to find his glasses so he can read it properly...afterall, if the marketing guys have invented a snappy slogan, he'd better learn it...

You can imagine his shock when he reads:

    "Turbosound. Fuck me, that's loud."

He promptly suggests to the marketing guy that no more of these shirts are given away.

I've never seen one of these shirts...but I want one.

We have red band-shirts. Our logo is in the front of it and on the back it says "if you can read this, drink faster".
We had to re-order them because they sold so good

Never a fan of the double endentre, I like the direct slogan. My fave was a Decadent Dub Team t-shirt I traded for in Austin at SXSW around 1988. It said:

    Decadent Dub Team
    Fuck You, We're From Texas
    GIVE ME MY FUCKING PRIZE
