We used the beta site for the songs on the Chees Kees record. The site was a bit clunky, but useable and you get nearly immediate feedback that your app has been received.

Be aware that if you indicate that your work is published, you still have to send a physical copy. Just that the form-work and application acknowledgement is slicker. Still waiting on the certificate, but I don't see that speeding up much since a person still has to get that accomplished - this part isn't automated.

It'll be nice if they get to the point of uploading songs rather than having to send physical copies of sound recordings and/or charts.

This is definately a step in the right direction though.

Actually, they do have the ability to upload MP3's of songs. But when your work is "published" they want a physical copy of the published work. Which is a bit goofy because a work could be "published" by their definition over the net. But whatever.
