Zero Amperes piano rock? mix..

Don't really know what I would call the genre but this song is supposed to be kind of "big" and "epic."

So please let me know what you think about my mix! Thanks in advance.

Give me all the constructive criticism you can, I'm always wanting to improve my mixing knowledge and my ears.

p.s. I know the performances aren't the very best but it's not too sloppy.

sounds like you got good tracks there man. but one thing that strikes me is how your drums are pumping the mix. id like to hear what it sounds like with a faster release, slightly faster attack,or no compression at all on the 2 buss. cheers

I like this song a lot.

Great BGV

The middle eight is a bit... listless.

The acoustic should be a bit more lucid and sparkly, as it were.

The snare needs a bit more snap.

Why not keep the compressed drum tracks as a parallel compression two track and then bring them up under the uncompressed drum tracks?

This is rather good, IMHO.

I screwed with the two track a bit.

Don't hit me.

It's not better, really, just different.

Wow guys thanks for the replies! I haven't checked for about a week because for a while I wasn't getting replies.

I actually re mixed the song again since I posted this, I thought there were some pretty bad aspects of this one I posted.

Btw I'm glad you noticed the background vocals I thought they sounded pretty nice. Anyways I think your tweaked track sounds cool. I'm gonna actually post a new mix of a different song right now. Feel free to critique that one too, any input is always helpful!
