Default Recording Teaching Sessions

Hello folks,

Would like to know what would be the best sounding way to go about recording something like this? Stick a lavalier and hope for the best?

Need details.

Room size?

Number of people speaking?

Questions from audience?

Required result?

To picture?

Give us a clue.

More details = better answer.

Cheers,
Tim

Most likely a microphone into some sort of recorder in the relevant room.

NB. Put the microphone in the same room as the session near the speaker(s).

Cheers

probably a lav on the instructor. perhaps a room mic for questions, and you put each of these two things on the two tracks of a stereo recorder and then only mix in the classroom mic for questions, but use the instructor mic as the basis of the recording.

Thanks for the pointers everyone I like Paul's idea of two mics. Will keep this in consideration.

Client has not given any information so I have no idea on the venue, size and other details but I did want the best method to obtain the best results possible given "ideal" conditions.
