So far, The Pirate Bay's promos have been very successful for the featured artists.
Not by any reasonable definition of the word 'successful' so far.
Quote:
George Barnett, who was one of the first featured artists on The Promo Bay, said the boost from The Pirate Bay helped him add 4,000 new Facebook fans and 85,000 new views on his video. Filmmaker Tomas Vergara got a healthy boost from The Promo Bay, with his short film "The Chase" earning more than 250,000 views in three days.

"When I had a reply saying that they liked it and I'd have a worldwide display on The Pirate Bay homepage, I pulled off my hair," Vergara said. "I think its been a while since I've opened my eyes that wide. Now 'The Chase' is having massive exposure. I'm so damn happy. This is the kind of things you were not expecting in life, I guess."
Another thing you are not expecting in life is to break even. I hope your utility companies accept payment in positive reviews because your "fans" will be taking your films for free whether you like it or not.

Bank: "We cannot accept 'exposure' as a mortgage payment."

Naive Filmmaker: "But... it's massive exposure!"

Quote:
Winston said that his initial plan for The Promo Bay has changed, he said it's all about looking for quality content, as well as diversity. He hopes The Pirate Bay can help transform a few artists' lives for the better.
to the gutter is more like it

I called my banker to let him know that my WOMB posts are seen by countless thousands of people all over the world, amounting to more than a million views a year for my posts alone.

He told me that he couldn't find an entry in his currency foreign exchange tables for "WombView -> $$USD"

Here's a post from The Purple Place - Jules took exception to the imagery and censored it, but he missed a post in which it was quoted and I thought it should be preserved for posterity:

Wow.

I suppose there is quite a lot that could be said about that one.

Even after sort of being primed a bit by the quotes from it here, to prepare myself for this, I still had to read it over again to believe what I was reading.

In my browser bookmarks I have a subfolder category under my "news" folder labelled "assorted idiocy". That article is one of the new starring feature items there, now.

An article on the web addressed to young women about scrawling "for a good time, call <name> at <number>" on the walls of men's public bathrooms to find true love with the man of their dreams.
